I am so pleased with Kristen! She is a breath of fresh air! I really like her, and Nickolas looks forward for Thursdays because Kristen is coming! During last Thursday's scheduled supervision session with Kristen, we had such a great and positive session. More
We had discussed time sequencing for Nickolas, and literally the next day, Krish had bought a new sequencing game that Kristen had brought for Nickolas. Kristen is absolutely on top of her game. I am so impressed! Thank you again for pairing us up, with the perfect match with Kristen! You and your company, as I have said several times, are the best of them all! I am very lucky to be with STAR of CA, and to have such an awesome team! Thank you again! You ALL are an asset to this company. Keep up the fabulous work! Sincerely, Taleen Haddajian :)
She is always very nice, caring and very patient. She always goes extra miles to find out which way works best for Aaron. (As we all know, Aaron is a very challenging child and we are kind of getting stuck at this moment). We would never expect that yesterday she bought a Spongebob Lego for Aaron's reward. More
When I asked her to see if we need to pay for the Lego, she just said "no, it's nothing." Finally, I found out that she actually paid herself ($35.00). We are so touched that she kept her promise to a 6 year-old kid with autism, spending her own time to go extra miles to do all this just for him. We strongly feel that this should not be ignored and this should be recognized. Thank you all! Sincerely, Shirley(Aaron's mom)
I can say that, for me personally, I feel even more motivated now to work with him in the evenings and on the weekends and I'm sure I speak for his mother as well....thank you.... J
I just watched him talk and laugh for 1 hour and 45 minutes straight. It was AWESOME!!!! Thank You, Liz P.S. Thank you to Valerie for all her hard work and dedication to [our son]. It has been much appreciated.
Aaron was so wonderful and funny. He asked the doctor so many questions that Dr. Pap was laughing. He kept saying how engaged Aaron was. A big difference from two years ago. Dr. Pap also sang the praises of STAR of CA and said he was so impressed with your program. He was especially impressed with Quy and said she was such a professional and an expert in her field. He said Tri Counties is so lucky to have a program like STAR of CA. More
He also asked me if I felt like Aaron was "off the spectrum" now. I had to turn that question back around on him because I am not sure if one has autism for a while; for the rest of their life; if they "recover" or go into "remission". It was an interesting conversation to say the least and I am so thankful that we got to talk about recovery, remission and the importance of early Intervention. I am one of the lucky parents. So, once again, I feel blessed to have the best for my kids! Without each and everyone one of you, we wouldn't be here today. I wish I could say more than thank you because it really doesn't seem enough. With much gratitude, Marla
The program has taught them skills to use at home with their little brother. When their little brother is having difficulties, the older two boys have been able to respond appropriately. More
The "peers" experience has also helped them be more compassionate toward other children. They learned not all children are alike and some have trouble socially. I saw one of them try to help a child that was playing by himself at a playground. He tried to facilitate for the child to join him and his brothers at play. If scheduling allows it I would love for the boys to participate in this program again. Mayra MacKenzie(Caden's Mom)
Casey is great!!! She is so sweet and [our son] already loves her. I just watched him talk and laugh for 1 hour and 45 minutes straight. It was AWESOME!!!! Thank You, Liz P.S. Thank you to Valerie for all her hard work and dedication to [our son]. It has been much appreciated
STAR of CA has provided the
information, education, and skills to help bring our whole family (aunts,
uncles, nieces & grandparents too) together. I have often said that EVERYONE
needs STAR of CA , not just families with spectrum challenges. The therapists and
supervisors are well trained and think outside the box. They are constantly
coming up with great new ideas to get our very rigid 6 year old to comply and
blossom. We have seen amazing results after all the hard work we have put in
over the past 2 years. It's not always easy, but it has proven effective so we
keep on going and are so pleased with how much our daughter has grown and
developed. She is in typical school and doing terrific. Thanks to all the
fantastic teachers we have supporting us from STAR of CA and her school.
Our team always out does themselves and has become an important part of our
family. Thanks STAR of CA for everything, I don't want to think of where we would be
had we not been blessed with your agency.
Many thanks,
Michelle Wieler
Just writing a quick email to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a
Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Also, wanted to thank you for all the hard work. I couldn't be happier with
Arlene-Jane, Amy and Wendy! You guys rock our world! My daughter Ivy started
in September (with no words) and in three months she has from 15 to 20 words in
her vocabulary. I am thrilled! Nothing better than that for Christmas. Thank you!
Warm Wishes,
Dan, Alexandra and Ivy Stewart
Ariel was diagnosed as "autistic" when she was two years old. She was labeled severe. No eye contact, no response . No language. When dropping a heavy object behind her back she would not flinch. Eye gauging, repetitive movement, drooling, eating a very limited diet. It was bad.
Ariel was getting services from the state, early intervention and an agency. Two years passed with some progress. We believed that Ariel is capable for "more" we looked for a change. We switched to "STAR of CA".
More
Ariel is six years old. She is a happy child, loves school and looks forwards every day to her two hours with Laura, her wonderful "STAR of CA" therapist.
Ariel is "talking" now...not like your typical six year old, however she is talking . Ariel communicates, plays, knows everybody in school by name. She counts to twenty, knows her ABC and can read (by memory over 150 words). Ariel gets dressed and undressed, takes part in bathing and brushes her teeth. Ariel has play dates supervised by "STAR of CA" where she interacts with a friend. Our girl is functioning better than anybody expected four years ago. We see great progress.
Ariel has taken over my I-Pad which she learned to operate and play with her favorite educational Apps.
"STAR of CA" has been our life line in every aspect of Ariel's life. We get help with IEP and classroom setting. We have team meetings at school to make sure that all of Ariel's team is on the same page. "STAR of CA" works with us in observing other therapies ( speech etc.) by critic and suggestions.
"STAR of CA" is providing us with parents education which is tremendously important. It trains us to work with Ariel following the same "recipe" that the therapists use.
There was never a problem or a request that was unanswered. "STAR of CA" is a solid foundation on which Ariel's progress is built piece by piece.
I cant say enough of what this means to us.
Having the right people to asses, work and believe in these children, makes the difference between "warehousing" and life.
Thank you
Ora Tamir (Grandma)
mother of STAR of CA client Jacob Wayman. I just have to let you know how happy we are with the STAR of CA Team we currently have. Supervisor, Alison Stanley, and Therapist Jared Brems are truly amazing individuals. We have been receiving services from STAR of CA for a few years now, and are currently very happy. Alison use to be our therapist and now supervisor really listens to all my needs, concerns, and addresses them so quickly. She recently sent me therapist Jared Brems and I get teary eyed just thinking about how he is helping our family. He really knows what he is doing, and totally understands the needs of Jacob. More
Jared has only been coming since Thanksgiving and he already completely understands were Jacob is lacking from being a typical little boy. It only took a day for Jared to build a relationship, friendship, and realize what he can do to help my son. I am truly thankful for having Jared in our lives to help us. It is a lot for a family to give up hours each day having someone come in our home and work with a special needs child, but Jared makes it all worth it. Our family talked about canceling service until you sent us Jared. Thank you for finding him for us, and thanks to Alison for realizing Jared is exactly what our family needed. We look forward to another year of progress with the help of Jared, and Alison. Please recognize and let these two know how thankful our family is for having them help us.
